Thanks for writing me a story! I’m very excited about seeing what you write for me! I can be found on AO3 and tumblr, in case you wish t stalk me, and my name on both sites is ChronicBookworm, so I should be easy to find!
In general, I like most things. I am a multishipper, and I read slash, het, femslash, gen and multi/poly. I also like all genres, fluff, angst, adventure, case fic, humour, romance, slice of life/domestic, you name it! I prefer my angst to have a ray of hope and not be too grimdark.
Tropes that I particularly enjoy are found families, ride or die friendships, co-dependence, hurt/comfort, POV outsider, canon divergence, characters with low self-worth being loved and accepted, time travel (both time-travel fix-its and travel to unfamiliar times for the character), happy poly relationships, happy asexual characters and relationships, competent characters being awesome, women being super awesome, women supporting other women, crossovers and 5+1.
DNW: smut, incest, teacher/student, mpreg, a/b/o, infidelity, cheating, jealousy/love triangles, characters being falsely accused of something they didn’t do, public embarrassment/humiliation, conflicts due to misunderstandings (conflict from other sources is fine and fun!), character bashing.
This all being said, am not that picky and will enjoy most things, if none of my prompts below grab your imagination. I’m sure I’ll love whatever you write! Some fandoms have more prompts than others – that doesn’t mean I want those more than the others, it’s just the ones where I had the most ideas for different things I might want.
Specific fandom prompts:
Peer Gynt
Characters: Solveig
Solveig has always fascinated me, as we get so little of her in the play – and many of her scenes are mostly there to further Peer’s narrative (e.g. the scene where he runs away, and the final scene). I’d love to see her fleshed out and given her own narrative.
What made her stay her entire life and wait for Peer? It seems like such an incomprehensible decision – what was she thinking? When did she realise he wasn’t coming back (or at least not anytime soon)? Did she ever lose hope? What did she think had happened? How did she manage in the forest all alone? What did she do? How did she fill her days? Did she interact with the village at all, and how did those interactions go? The final scene shows her dressed for church, which implies she did go to the village for church at least. How did she deal with her father, the vicar?
What if she’d followed Peer on his adventures? How would that have changed events of the play?
Or what if Peer hadn’t run off? What if he hadn’t gone off with Ingrid from Hægstad, and they could have lived in the town? Would they have been able to have a respectable life together, or would Peer’s nature and the social system of the village have put insurmountable obstacles in the path for them? Or what if he’d stayed with Solveig when the Greenclad came? How would things have turned out for them together in the little cabin in the forest? What would have happened to the Greenclad’s child? Would Solveig have rejected or resented the child, or resented Peer, or would she have accepted the child, the way she accepted all of Peer’s misdeeds at the end of the play?
There are so many possibilities!
Hustle
Characters: Any
I’d love a case fic, where they get to be super clever just like in the show, and I especially like how they react to new circumstances and manage to turn things that would seem like they’d blow the con apart, and work it into the con itself. I love the strong bonds between the characters, and how the show leans into the found family trope. Feel free to pick and choose which characters you want to focus on. There wasn’t space to nominate all of the characters in the tagset, so I just nominated my favourites, but I don’t mind if the fic includes or even focuses on characters that weren’t nominated! If you do go for a team/case fic, I’d prefer it to be gen, rather than inter-team shippy.
Alternatively, I’d really like to see something set pre-show, perhaps how young Mickey first met Albie, and how Albie decided to take him under his wing and mentor him, or how they met Ash, and how they started working together with him. Again, if you want to include Stacie in this, by all means go ahead! Or perhaps something with young Sean in foster care or on the streets, getting by on short cons? If you want to include Emma in this, feel free to make them unhealthily co-dependent!
Finally, I really liked the dynamic between Ash and Sean in the show, and I’d really like a fic that explored that, either via a gen mentoring/friendship fic, or a shippy fic, I don’t mind. I’d love lots of teasing, banter, and both spoken and unspoken fondness.
Hustle is also the one exception to my DNW about characters being falsely accused: if they’re being framed by dirty cops the way that sometimes happens on the show, I trust that they’ll manage to frame the cop back or expose them, so it doesn’t set off my anxiety too badly.
Eric’s TBD RPG
Characters: Cillian, Finn, The Doctor, Rokokokoko
I would absolutely adore further adventures with this group of people! Give me the Doctor going to gather up her companions again. Give me Roko and Finn falling in love all over again/anew, rediscovering things they knew about each other and making new memories, and Cillian discovering who he is and what he once had the power to do, this average electrician from London who once reshaped the universe. Give me the Doctor with her core of steel and absolute faith in the goodness of the universe.
Alternatively, I’d also love a story set in the paradox universe, where they’re being chased by Temporal Guards. I loved the feeling of time running out, the high-stakes situations that they were thrown into, and their clever solutions in getting out of them. I also loved how protective they were of each other, how quickly they became ride-or-die, and how clearly it came across that they did truly care for each other, despite their different outlooks on life.
If you want to include other characters from the show, such as Vellig, Meatstick, Zeeps, or the Corsair, you are more than welcome to - both PCs and NPCs are welcome! As with Hustle, I didn’t have enough nomination slots for all the characters I adore, so just nominated my very favourites (and believe me, it was hard to choose!). You could even include cameos from characters from the main Whoniverse to see how their counterparts fare in the TBD RPG universe, although I’d prefer it if the focus remained on the TBD RPG characters.
